The world is full of outstanding achievers, remarkable thinkers, men and women of wisdom, inventors, scientists, poets, teachers and leaders. They impress us. They influence the course of our lives. Some show us the way. Others are a living example. We learn from them. We admire their knowledge. We try to reduplicate their leadership. Sometimes, we succeed, some other times we fail. But there is a special "breed" of people who fascinate our minds, capture our imagination, and enter our hearts for ever.

They become part of the fabric of our existence, a sort of obsession, an example to follow or imitate. Not because they are brighter than us. Not because they accomplished so much. BUT, simply because, their intelligence and leadership are nourished by goodness and a noble soul. This is the kind of people we will never forget. For,  we  are  touched  by  their  goodness,  generosity, helping hand and the comfort they brought to our trouble lives and tough times. I know one person who is all of the above. An outstanding scholar, a community leader, father of the poor, the hopeless immigrant and the needy,  a man with a brain brighter than the sun and a heart larger than the world we live in. His name is Rabbi Moshe Wiener.

Centuries ago, a Roman senator asked Cicero about the secret of his oratory magic. And Cicero replied: "When I address the masses (and they were in the thousands), I see only one face". He meant by that, when he talks to people, (Thousands or one single individual), he communicates with them as if they were one person who deserves his full attention and utmost interest. Cicero never intended to impress the masses. One thing was on his mind: Tell the truth and serve the interest of the public. And this is exactly what Rabbi Moshe Wiener has been doing for years: Serving the community, no strings attached. And that is the essence of nobility. You call Rabbi Wiener on Wednesday night and you tell him "Rabbi, I need your help, I am desperate." Continues on page 2
