Education has always been an important topic in the lives of parents and children. Many studies show that education is one of the primary factors in the success that children will have in their lives. The lack of education has many negative results. One of the things that impacts education overall is the foundation of the education. The public school system is the foundation for many children regarding education. The public school system is based on various factors. One of the most important factors is the area where public school systems are operated.
In areas that have above average income, economic, and social levels, the quality of the education in the public schools tends to be significantly higher than in areas that maintain below average income, economic, and social levels. This difference affects millions of children across the country. There are many things that people suggest could be done to improve public schools in below average income areas. However, many times the children in these areas are suffering academically while people continue to talk about ways to improve the level of public education.

One of the things that has been discussed is the use of school vouchers for children living in areas where the public school systems are not achieving certain standards because of reasons such as below average income levels. An article released recently discussed the idea of giving school vouchers and Betsy DeVos a chance to improve the conditions concerning the education of children in areas with struggling public school systems. The article pointed out several reasons why giving school vouchers and Betsy DeVos an opportunity is the right thing to do for several reasons.
Betsy DeVos, who is married to Dick DeVos, is an individual who has made helping others a passion in her life. She is a strong supporter of school vouchers. She is a strong supporter of many charities and worthwhile causes. Betsy DeVos and Dick DeVos have given millions of dollars to help others across the country. The couple is known as very generous givers of their money and time.
In addition, Betsy DeVos has made a name for herself in the business world. She has served on many boards, and she has been the chairman of the Windquest Group. Recently she was appointed as the new Secretary of Education. The appointment as the new Secretary of Education is a position that Betsy DeVos respects tremendously. The position has a direct affect on how education is carried out across the country.
I believe that Betsy DeVos has helped to improve the lives of many people through her financial given and social efforts. She is a person who believes in family and doing her part to make the world a better place for everyone.

Parents around the country have been rejoicing ever since President Trump decided on Betsy DeVos to be the U.S. Education Secretary. There are about to be some positive changes concerning the educational system that have long been put on the shelf. No longer will the educational system have the majority of choices when it comes to the teaching of children, Betsy DeVos is making strides to give parents back some of that control as to how and where their children are taught.
These are just three reasons Betsy DeVos is going to have a positive impact on the educational system in the United States.
Betsy DeVos is a strong supporter of school choice. She believes that the parents should be able to choose which schools that their children attend, whether that be private, charter, or traditional public schools. She is going to be working closely with President Trump in creating a $20 billion voucher program in which parents can utilize to sent their children to the schools of their choice. Instead of the county deciding that a child must attend a certain school based on geographic restrictions, the parents will now have the ability to put their children in a school they think will best help further their education.

If you want to see how serious Betsy DeVos is concerning deregulation, you only need look how she spend $1.45 million of her own money to stop a school in Michigan from adding oversight to charter schools. She has been a long time opponent of regulation, and she will continue to hunt down and identify how many bad charters across the country were able to operate for so long without ever improving or being forced to shut down. Betsy DeVos believes that when these oversights are scaled back, it will allow children of all races and incomes to have the opportunity to attend quality schools.
Perhaps the biggest reason to rally behind Betsy DeVos is the same reason Donal Trump won the presidential election. Trump had little political experience, and he promised to change the way the country runs, that business as usual is not going to be the norm any longer. Betsy DeVos too has very little in the way of political experience, and she is determined to get some real work done in the educational system. She does have some experience at the state level, having served as the chairwoman for the Michigan Republican Party, but now she is going to be working on a much bigger stage.
Now she will have the opportunity to get educational officials on both sides of the fence to rally together for one common goal, improving the educational system for these children.
Just like Trump, her nomination received mixed reviews, but she will in time show how hard work and determination will have a positive impact on the educational system. Follow her on Twitter.
Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is the Republican Nominee for President of the United States. New York has often been a hub of political activity, and both candidates frequent this area. Imagine the look on people’s faces this morning, when they saw a giant Zoltar of Donald in a box. Yes, people in the NYC area are seeing quite a bit of this fortune telling machine. Unlike the real person, the fake Zoltar tells people the truth. It says things like “I was never going to build a wall anyway. Do you people know how much that would cost?”
The box idea came from the movie “Big.” The billionaire’s numerous unhinged views are the laughing stock of many, and this is why the humorous aspects seems to be taken so well. Locals have no clue where the box will show up next. But rest assured, wherever the Zoltar of Donald is located, there is always a crowd gathered around.
The box has been spotted all over Brooklyn and Manhattan, and alas, yesterday it was spotted in front of Trump Towers. It’s all in good fun, or is it? No one knows who is behind this giant machine with the life-size Donald in it. Additionally, no one knows when and where it will show up next. It is certain that people think it is funny, but the message is quite clear. On the front of the box, it says “America’s Future Is…..” That’s the problem, this presidential race has become the laughing stock of the world. No matter which candidate a person votes for, there are some scandals and controversy that must be overlooked. However, when it comes to Trump, his promise to make American great again may be too little too late.
Gothamist reported that the box doesn’t seem to have an owner, or at least no one is claiming it just yet. However, without fail, it continues to move around campaigning against Donald Trump. Another thing that Zoltar talks freely about are deporting all the illegal immigrants. In an area where diversity is ramped, talking about sending people packing doesn’t sit well with many. It’s less than 30 days till the election, and the American people are ready for all the antics to be over, including the roaming Zoltar.
Zephyr Teachout, a law professor by profession, won the Democratic Party primary for a seat in the New York House. Teachout was widely backed by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders was a democratic presidential candidate who lost to former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
Teachout, who once ran for governor in New York, has defeated Will Yandik, a Livingston town Councilman who was also vying for the democratic nomination. Teachout received widespread endorsements from high ranking and influential Democrats within the district. This was largely due to the endorsement that the professor received from Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Face off with John Faso
Teachout, a progressive fireband, is largely favored to win the house seat in November. She will face off with republican candidate John Faso who clinched the Republican nomination. As early as Tuesday night, Fuso was favored to win the Republican nomination after garnering strong support from within his party ranks.
Faso is a former minority leader for the state Assembly of New York. He won the primaries after a tough fight with his opponent Andrew Heaney. Heaney had aligned himself to current Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Faso triumphed over Heaney after he consolidated strong support from local county committees (GOP) and the Conservative Party operating in the state.
Teachout and Faso will face off for the New York house seat in the 19th district, Hudson Valley. The winner will replace outgoing representative Chris Gibson. The election could go either way. President Barrack Obama won the district during the last two elections.
This year Charlie Rangel won’t be among those running for the position of US Representative for New York’s 13th congressional district, the district in Upper Manhattan that includes the Harlem neighborhood. Mr. Rangel, who has filled that position since 1971, has announced his retirement, leaving the field wide open for no fewer than 9 candidates seeking to win in New York’s Democratic Primary Election.
In an article that appeared this week in the New York Times, William Neuman catalogued the contenders and traced a bit of their history (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/11/nyregion/contest-to-fill-rangels-seat-its-old-vs-new.html). The two front-runners, Adam Clayton Powell IV and Keith L.T. Wright, have names that resonate in Harlem’s history. The others represent the diverse interests of Harlem’s mosaic-like ethnic identity, which has changed considerably in the past four decades.
Keith L. T. Wright is the son of State Supreme Court judge Bruce Wright, a figure much respected in Harlem for his work in ridding the state judicial system of racism. Keith Wright has been endorsed by Representative Rangel and other major figures in the Harlem political establishment. He also enjoys considerable popularity among older residents who remember his father’s work and reputation.
Adam Clayton Powell IV can also draw upon the support of Harlem voters who remember his father, Adam Clayton Powell Jr., a major civil-rights activist who was unseated by Charlie Rangel in 1970, after serving as Representative of the 13th district for 26 years.
Other contenders for Charlie Rangel’s position include state senator Adriano Espaillat, originally from the Dominican Republic, and Clyde Williams, a former director of the Democratic National Committee.
Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Ann Telnaes must have had “goose bumps” on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 when her prediction about the Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to have came true after 17 years!
Telnaes promptly tweeted an illustration that she published in The Washington Post back in 1999 showing an assistant saying to President Bill Clinton that he’d figured out what the Bill Clinton legacy would be, and they were standing under a large glamorous portrait of Hillary. The hint was that Bill Clinton’s political career would be followed by his wife carving out her own space, which certainly happened in many areas over the past years. And now this!!
Looking today very much like that long-ago portrait, Hillary herself gave an excited victory speech at Brooklyn’s Navy Yard the night before. She was happy to proclaim that she was making history by becoming the first woman to clinch a major party’s nomination for president. She also revealed that her mother was born on the very day that Congress passed the 19th Amendment that gave women the right to vote.
Ann Carolyn Telnaes was born November 15, 1960, in Sweden and is a syndicated editorial cartoonist with a special focus on women’s issues. In 2001, she became only the second female cartoonist to win the coveted Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. Her work appears in many large newspapers in the United States and internationally and in a weekly cartoon in Women’s eNews.
